Only about an hour from Richmond and Virginia Beach, less than 30 minutes from Norfolk and Williamsburg and minutes from Hampton, Jamestown, Yorktown, Smithfield and Gloucester - that's Newport News. I-64 runs the length of our city and connects with Route 17 to Yorktown and Gloucester. Or travel west on I-64 and you're in Williamsburg and Jamestown. To the east, I-64 connects with I-664 and the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel. Within minutes after driving through the tunnel, you reach Suffolk, then Portsmouth and before you know it, you're soaking up the sun in Virginia Beach!
