Anderson Park / Peterson's Yacht Basin
Anderson Park is home to the historic Monitor-Merrimack Overlook. It was at this site on March 9, 1862, that the Battle of the Ironclads took place. In addition to its history, the park also features ballfields, basketball, a boat ramp, saltwater fishing, beach access, picnic shelters, a playground and public restrooms.

Deer Park
Deer Park is located on Jefferson Avenue, just south of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, in the center of the city. The park has two entrances: at Robinson Road and at Groome Road. White-tailed deer used to be raised on a game preserve in this area before the land was dedicated as a public park; hence, the name "Deer Park." While white-tailed deer are no longer found here, Deer Park still has much to offer...
