Description

In the late 19th century, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show toured the vast, expanding American landscape, offering dazzling displays of sharpshooting, horseback riding and living history. Now in the 21st century, a new Wild West show makes its debut, starring Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, Millie-Christine McKoy and other famous and infamous women who stood at the nexus of nation building and entertainment during the era of Westward Expansion. Reclaiming the stage to tell their own narratives, they will dazzle you with daring feats, while discovering that perhaps our national origin story isn’t quite as simple as some would like to believe. The New Musicals Lab at the Ferguson Center is designed to elevate emerging artists and their development of new musicals in a supportive and artistic haven outside of New York, serving as an incubator for experienced writers to develop new projects with talent and resources provided. Email diana.ruffer@cnu.edu to reserve seats. Include name, which reading you'd like to attend, and number in your party. Show is in Ferguson Center for the Arts Peebles Theatre. Click here for details.
